CRUISE PHOTOGRAPHY
Some of the best memories of your cruise will come when you purchase 1,
2 or more of the cruise photos that will be taken when you set sail.
The cruise ships offer simple and fun photography and you will laugh
with pain when you see some of the shots they caught of you and other
guests. On some ships, photos will start the minute you board
until the last evening of the cruise. You will enjoy shore
excursion photos, formal night photos and general dining and onboard
photos. Fun for all.
On some of the more upscale and luxury lines, do not expect any photos
to be taken unless you desire them to. It is the feeling and
philosophy of the luxury lines that if people want a photo, then they
will take them at their own time and pleasure.
Types of cruise photography:
-
Formal: many different backdrops will be
available for these formal evenings. Some ships will offer
formal night photographs with the captain or officers.
-
Candid: little guys will be popping up
all over the cruise ship and taking pictures that you will forget
about until you see them in the photo display room. From start
to finish, the camera will be watching you and your other passengers
both onboard and on shore when the ship docks at ports of call.
-
Embarkation and Debarkation: most ships
will take your picture when you get on or embark the ship.
When you are getting off or disembarking for shore excursions or any
of the ports of call, the photographers are usually there to
memorialize the occasion.
Once the photos have been taken, you will be able to
view them and purchase them for your personal pleasure. Normally,
you can charge any photos to your room account by using your shipboard
ID card. Reprints and enlargements can be ordered when viewing the
photos, just ask the person on duty. Settings for cruise photos:

Remember, you do not have to buy any photo.
You are not obligated to purchase anything. If you like a photo
and want to buy it, great. They will sell it to you and off you
go.
You can also drop off your own film or digital memory sticks to the
photo shop onboard and most will develop your film or put your digital
photos on a CD to take with you for upload later. If
you plan on doing any snorkeling or diving you may want to pick up an
underwater disposable camera or two before you leave home. Once
onboard you will find that they are available, but, at about twice the
price at your hometown store. Photos of your cruise
vacation will last a lifetime and they are worth the cost.
